After having to wait a whole two weeks to see this movie due to work commitments, my excitement levels were through the roof as I sat impatiently waiting for the movie to start. I’m not a big fan of most epic action movie franchises (Lord Of The Rings for example), I tend to get bored sitting through long run times, but Pirates Of The Caribbean is certainly different and has always kept me gripped to the edge of my seat throughout each adventure on the high seas. Let’s start with one simple fact – there are very few Marvel movies I actually like. I’m definitely more of a DC Comics kind of girl. But if someone were to ask me what my favourite blockbuster superhero movie is? Then without a shadow of doubt, it’s got to be Guardians Of The Galaxy. GOTG has it all – great characters with big personalities, a purposeful story, thrilling fight scenes and, above all, the most phenomenal movie soundtrack of all time. Oh, but wait – VOL. 2 STEPS IT UP. BIG TIME. So if you thought it couldn’t get any better – IT JUST DID. Continue reading “Movies | ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Review | Spoiler Free”

I was recently inspired by Disney‘s “Dream Big, Princess” campaign to create a post on our beloved Disney Princesses and heroines. Too often, I hear too many non-magical folk describe Disney females as “not being healthy role models” for children, and I want to prove them wrong. If it wasn’t for Continue reading “Pop Culture | World Book Day Special | Our Favourite Disney Princesses & Heroines”
Remember the phenomenally successful The LEGO Movie back in 2014, where everything was awesome? Well… Even more awesomer bricks have gone into the building of spinoff The LEGO Batman Movie, a film where the famous black-and-yellow dark knight takes centre stage. And, in his words, it’s simply “off the chain“. I will warn you, this review does contain spoilers so I can discuss plot-points in detail, so if you want to remain unknowing of what to expect, go watch the movie and come straight back afterwards! Rogue One marked the last movie I saw at the cinema in 2016. After a whole year of outstanding cinematic productions, it comes as no surprise that Rogue One was eagerly anticipated. However, while I’d say the majority of viewers had positive responses to this Star Wars midquel, there has been a wide range of just HOW much fans enjoyed it, varying from being praised as “the best Star Wars movie since Episode IV” to “meh… it was alright.” So, just what category did I fit into, you ask? (Warning: Spoilers ahead!) Continue reading “Movies | ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Review”
