Movies | ‘Justice League’ Review

It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of DC Comics. I have several issues old and new in my collection, including some from as far back as the 40s. But I’m not just a fan of the comics – I adore the TV shows, animation, video games, and yes, even the new DCEU movies. Man Of Steel was, in my eyes, a refreshing reboot that incorporated what it is to be a superhero in this day in age. Are they worshipped, or are they feared? Are they a god-sent miracle, or a threat to modern society? Not only did it raise some great points of storytelling, Man Of Steel had plenty of action and origin in equal servings. The follow up sequel, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, just got even better by adding more famous heroes into the mix, as well as even more infamous villains, and an exciting climatic battle. (You can read what I thought of Suicide Squad here, and the more recent Wonder Woman here). So, long story short, I LOVED Justice League. But why, you ask? Well, let me tell you right here… Continue reading “Movies | ‘Justice League’ Review”

Movies | ‘IT’ Review | Spoiler Free

“We ALL float down here…”
If you grew up watching all the big cult classics or reading horror fiction, you’ll be more than familiar with that infamous line spoken by Pennywise The Dancing Clown in Stephen King’s IT. When the original 1986 novel was transformed into the successful 1990 television mini-series, it became mainstream pop culture, and the main reason lots of folks now commonly suffer from Coulrophobia (myself included). So, what can we expect from IT awakening from it’s slumber 27 years later? Does IT live up to the sheer terror we experienced through it’s other forms of media? Is IT a shot-for-shot carbon copy, or can we expect something entirely fresh? Continue reading “Movies | ‘IT’ Review | Spoiler Free”

Movies | ‘Wonder Woman’ Review | Spoiler Free

I love the DCEU movies. I know a lot of people won’t agree with me on that one, and I can understand that up to now they have each been flawed, but there’s nothing quite like watching your favourite superheroes come to life all over again. However, for Diana of Themyscira, Wonder Woman has never had a big screen movie, ever. Until now. Continue reading “Movies | ‘Wonder Woman’ Review | Spoiler Free”

Movies | ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’ Review | Spoiler Free

After having to wait a whole two weeks to see this movie due to work commitments, my excitement levels were through the roof as I sat impatiently waiting for the movie to start. I’m not a big fan of most epic action movie franchises (Lord Of The Rings for example), I tend to get bored sitting through long run times, but Pirates Of The Caribbean is certainly different and has always kept me gripped to the edge of my seat throughout each adventure on the high seas. Continue reading “Movies | ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’ Review | Spoiler Free”

Gaming | ‘Final Fantasy XV’ Review

Final Fantasy has been a video game series I spent my pre-teen years playing. I’ll confess to not having played each and every numbered title in the series, but I’ve played enough to be more than familiar with it’s themes of adventure, courage and bravery in times of peril. Chocobos, Moogles and Cactuars are all well-versed in my vocabulary, as are the names of each summon, from Shiva to Bahamut.

But do you want to know what the best thing about XV is? Well, the introduction screen says it all… Continue reading “Gaming | ‘Final Fantasy XV’ Review”
