I haven’t had time to sketch in so long! I’m planning on starting a new series of portraits, and who better than the Disney princesses, who are, let’s be honest, my main daily inspiration?
This portrait has been sketched completely by coloured pencils, and I used very little reference images so that my work is original in pose and colour. Apart from the obvious princess artwork, I was also inspired by headshots of early Hollywood stars such as Clara Bow, Jean Harlow, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, which is fitting with the era when Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs was released (1939). They always looked very dreamy as they look off into the distance with their big doe eyes, which is what I happily managed to capture in this drawing.
Who would you like to see me draw next in this style? Let me know in the comments!
Hi everyone, apologies as I am posting this a little later than originally planned! Here’s my work-in-progress of an original piece I’m working on. The Gotham City Sirens (Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy) are, of course, my inspiration for this piece, and I’m
going for my own take on their original costumes, but I’m replacing the black/grey tones with more vivid colour for a more bright, interesting quality. Continue reading “Art | Gotham City Sirens | Work-In-Progress Colour Pencil Sketch”

Happy Halloween! Well, okay, it’s the 28th, but because the 31st falls on a Monday this year, everyone will be celebrating this weekend instead! Need a unique idea for make-up? How about trying my personal favourite, that I like to call… “The Creeper“! Why that name, you ask? Well, as you can see from the photos, the big black-veined eyes and wide grimacing grin are just… well, creepy. “The Creeper” is brilliantly versatile and can accompany many a costume, whether you’re a zombie, witch, banshee, ghost or anything inbetween. It’s also pretty simple to apply, when you know how! So without further ado, here’s how to get the look… Continue reading “Beauty | Halloween Special | “The Creeper” Make-Up Tutorial”

I’m so excited to finally see Disney’s live action production of The Jungle Book, I decided to create a Shere Khan inspired nail art tutorial in its honour!
This is a pretty simple guide to creating the tiger’s eye (preferably on your thumb for the biggest work space). To demonstrate how just how simple, I’ve used Continue reading “Beauty | The Jungle Book Shere Khan Nail Art Tutorial”
