I haven’t had time to sketch in so long! I’m planning on starting a new series of portraits, and who better than the Disney princesses, who are, let’s be honest, my main daily inspiration?
This portrait has been sketched completely by coloured pencils, and I used very little reference images so that my work is original in pose and colour. Apart from the obvious princess artwork, I was also inspired by headshots of early Hollywood stars such as Clara Bow, Jean Harlow, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, which is fitting with the era when Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs was released (1939). They always looked very dreamy as they look off into the distance with their big doe eyes, which is what I happily managed to capture in this drawing.
Who would you like to see me draw next in this style? Let me know in the comments!
After having to wait a whole two weeks to see this movie due to work commitments, my excitement levels were through the roof as I sat impatiently waiting for the movie to start. I’m not a big fan of most epic action movie franchises (Lord Of The Rings for example), I tend to get bored sitting through long run times, but Pirates Of The Caribbean is certainly different and has always kept me gripped to the edge of my seat throughout each adventure on the high seas. Ironically enough, I always try to avoid wearing too much black nowadays. The reason being that black was all I used to wear back in my high school years, and eventually I got a little tired of it! Black dresses, black tops, black jeans, black skirts, black shoes… I was a goth as you could get (without actually being a self-confessed goth). Continue reading “Fashion | Delicate Monochrome”
July 24th, 1985. Walt Disney Studios released its 25th animated feature film in cinemas. But this Disney movie is completely different to anything Disney had ever done before, or even till this day almost 32 years later. That movie was The Black Cauldron.
