MCM London Comic Con was now a whole month ago and I only just feel like I can sit down, and properly process how amazing the experience was! If you would like to see what an awesome time we had and experience every moment of the action for yourself, make sure you check out my vlog on my YT channel here!
MCM London Comic Con takes place at the ExCel building in the London docklands. Me and fiancé Rupert stayed nearby for 3 nights and attended the con for the whole weekend – 25th, 26th and 27th May!
We stayed at the Ibis Styles hotel which was only one small bridge of a walk away from the ExCel building. Of course, one of the most awesome things about comic con is cosplay, so I decided to cosplay my favourite Disney ladies each day – Moana on Friday, Elena Of Avalor on Saturday, and mermaid Ariel on Sunday! Because of how near our hotel was, I was fortunate that I didn’t have to walk through non-con goers who would’ve wondered why I was waddling around in a fish tail!
We had general entry tickets so we arrived around 11am-12.30pm each day. The con floor is HUGE – it felt like two football stadiums put together! There’s two massive halls packed full of stalls that sell everything from popular brands to a variety of snacks, and there’s multiple stages with constant panels and celebrity interviews. Outside, in the courtyard is what I call “cosplay central” – there is so much cosplay fun going on! There’s photo-shoots, meet-ups, and people resting up, eating snacks on the grass, enjoying the weather.
Overall, we had literally the best time! It was a friendly atmosphere throughout, lots of quality merch to be found, I enjoyed trying new snacks and I personally found the cosplay aspect to be the cherry on top, it was so much fun to meet other cosplayers, have a chat about what we love and get some great photos/videos together!
I will be posting some MCM TOP TIPS soon for having the best time, so keep an eye out!
