Bonjour! Well, it’s been a bit quiet around here, hasn’t it? The truth is, October has turned out to be a VERY busy month, with no time to sit down. However, enough’s enough, and now I’m making the time to tell you all what I’ve been up to!
On the 1st October, it was finally my time to return to one of the most magical places on Earth – Disneyland Paris!
This was my second time visiting with my best friend Alex, and both of our first times visiting for our favourite season of the year – Halloween! We had the most amazing time, we met over a whopping 20 characters (!) and managed to do and see everything we set out to conquer, including some brand new attractions we’ve both never seen/done before such as Illuminations, Disney Stars On Parade, Mickey And The Magician, Starlit Princess Waltz, Star Tours and the freshly reinvented Hyperspace Mountain! The trip passed us by way too quickly – we can’t wait to be back again!
My Disneyland trip brings me into the next subject nicely, as I’ve recently officially launched my own YouTube Channel! Mandy Jean World (that’s right, same title as this blog!) will run alongside my blog right here, and I’m aiming to film content that is more suitable for a video rather than a written blog post, such as vlogs, shopping hauls, topical discussions and more. At the current moment, I have all my Disneyland Paris vlogs from our trip live to watch, so if you’d like to see all the fun we had in DLP, visit my channel here!
I had only been home a few days from DLP when it was time to go on another adventure – this time, at Nor Con! Me and a couple of friends were volunteers this year with a designated area on the con floor both days of the con. On the Saturday, after months of planning, it was finally time for the Disney Cosplay Meet-Up! We had an absolutely amazing turnout and even ended up on both the tv news and in the newspapers! It was lovely to meet so many new faces and have a good catch up with friends I haven’t seen in a while. Of course, me and my friends like to joke that we wasn’t at Nor Con at all – we spent much of the whole weekend in character! It’s so magical to see so many smiles on faces young and young at heart when they meet their heroes and makes the experience all the more worthwhile.
Happy Halloween! As usual, being a professional make-up artist I spent the weekend working non-stop, transforming everyone into terrifying monsters. However, I found time to create a quick Disney-Bound in the form of Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon A Time! After all, all magic comes with a price, dearie… *evil cackles*
My mum also surprised me with some cute spooky cupcakes! It appears everyone knows my obsession with Halloween. I’m hoping I’ll get to catch some more horror movies at the cinema soon, there’s so many on at the moment! It was absolutely incredible though. If you would like to know more, make sure you check out my review here!
That’s all for now. It’s my birthday this week, after all, so I’m off to prepare to celebrate another year being older. Catch up with you all soon!
