Fashion | Delicate Monochrome

Ironically enough, I always try to avoid wearing too much black nowadays. The reason being that black was all I used to wear back in my high school years, and eventually I got a little tired of it! Black dresses, black tops, black jeans, black skirts, black shoes… I was a goth as you could get (without actually being a self-confessed goth).

But black, despite not technically being a colour, has some great redeeming qualities – it’s sophisticated, it’s flattering, and it goes with literally anything. Add some white into the mix, and you’ve got yourself some monochrome – and monochrome is such a great combination.

What drew me to this dress is it’s beauty. It’s got a pretty floral design, coupled with a comfy, flowy fit that is very on-par with the gypsy tops that have creeped their way back into mainstream fashion. I paired it with a gorgeous big hairbow and delicate pearl jewellery. I chose my long black boots for the ultimate throwback style.

My name is Mandy Jean, I’m 23, and I’m probably likely to be in the top 5 of the most nerdy people you’ll ever meet (I’ve been personally informed of this on more than one occasion). I’m also obsessed with Disney movies, an avid comic reader and pastel colours are my Kryptonite. When I’m not blogging, I’m a cosplayer under the name Enchanted Rose Cosplay, and have been working part-time as a pro make-up artist for 7 years. Oh, I also enjoy sketching in my downtime and chilling with my dogs, Maggie May and Minnie Bow.
