Review | DisneyLife App

I’ve had the DisneyLife app for just a little over two weeks now and I just can’t help bragging about how much I love it! The DisneyLife app is, in short, unlimited digital Disney entertainment wherever, whenever. So if you’re a big Disney fan like I am, you’ll massively benefit from the 100s of movies, tv shows, live tv, music and books available at your fingertips! Here’s an in-depth review of everything the DisneyLife app has to offer, and what I’ve personally been enjoying the most…

DisneyLife has a HUGE catalog of Disney movies, from the Walt Disney Animated Classics (including both the insanely popular AND the largely underrated), to all the sequels, spin-offs, cartoon shorts, Pixar, Disney Channel Originals and so many live action productions from over the years. Now, if you’re like me, you probably have quite a few of these on DVD, but having them all available in one place makes viewing so much easier, especially when you can watch them on the go! It also allows you to test the water with movies you might not necessarily purchase on home media. Not quite your kind of Disney movie? Just click on the ‘X‘ and choose another – simple as that! (Although let’s be honest, if it’s Disney, it’s almost always likely to be nothing short of amazing!). If you’ve unfortunately been interrupted by reality mid-movie, don’t worry – you can resume watching right where you left off from the home screen!

DisneyLife allows you to live-stream three channels: Disney Channel, DisneyXD and Disney Junior! As a girl who never had the privilege of growing up with Sky on their tv, and has only ever watched Disney Channel on their occasional far and few in-between (but absolutely wonderful) trips to Disneyland Paris in the hotel room, this area of the app is one of the main reasons why I decided to subscribe to the app – I wish to miss out no longer, adult or not! Having three channels available means a tonne of variety, and the app makes it so easy to flip between them seamlessly.

Just like the movies section, DisneyLife’s catalogue of Disney tv shows is very extensive, including all the latest Disney Channel/XD/Junior favourites such as Liv & Maddie, Gravity Falls and Sofia The First to some golden nostalgic classics such as DuckTales, Kim Possible, That’s So Raven and so many more, available for some serious binge-viewing whenever you wish. The TV section of the app is one of my absolute favourites so far and what I’ve actually been watching the most!

Who doesn’t love a great Disney song, or two, or three, or five-hundred? Most of the fellow DisneyLife app users I speak to praise this section as one of their favourite areas of the app, as having hundreds of Disney complication albums on your device means that every minute of your day can be a Disney kind of day as you can listen while getting ready, doing the housework, sitting on the bus… Whatever scenario you find yourself in, there’s Disney music that’ll never fail to cheer you up. From movie/tv soundtracks to pop/rock artist song covers to Disney Parks anthems from around the world, the choice is yours!

Admittedly, this part of the app will come in more handy if you are a parent with young children and teaching them to read as the books are separated into “reading stages, but I’ll also admit I have enjoyed reading all about the adventures of my favourite characters after they lived happily ever after in spin-off adventures, as well as flicking through the beautifully illustrated storybooks that you’ll super appreciate if you love the art of Disney animation as much as myself! There is also lots of junior novelisations for those who love reading through their favourite Disney classics. Just like the other sections, there are hundreds of colourful official Disney books to relaxingly sit back and read whenever you like!

DisneyLife is available to download on Apple, Android and Amazon devices, including TVs, desktops, tablets and mobiles manufactured by these companies. After downloading on one device, you can do the same with up to 9 more devices on your account, which is perfect for larger families who want to share the magic between them! Planning a trip away soon and you’ll most likely be without an internet connection but still want to enjoy DisneyLife content? No worries! The Downloads section of the app means you can download as much content as you like without having to be connected to the web.

Upon first downloading the DisneyLife app, you can sign up for a 7 Day FREE Trial. Once you’ve signed up for the trial, you can enjoy all that DisneyLife has to offer and create your own profile (complete with character avatar) from which you can choose to cancel the trial and impending subscription if you wish. After the trial period has expired, your subscription will cost just £4.99 per month. Just like the trial, you can cancel your subscription anytime as there’s no contract. One of the most awesome perks that comes with DisneyLife subscription is that you’ll receive a 10% discount code to use at Disney Store that you can use whenever you shop online or in-store!

That’s pretty much all the basic information you’ll need to know to get you started with the magic that is the DisneyLife app! In my opinion, whatever age you are, DisneyLife will bring you something for you to thoroughly enjoy with hours upon hours of unlimited entertainment. The app runs so smoothly with vibrant sound and gorgeous picture quality and it’s so easy to use, meaning you don’t have to be highly tech-savvy to use it efficiently. DisneyLife has so much to offer, and even after two weeks and using the app everyday, I don’t think I’ve even managed to watch, listen to or read even 5% of the overall content available! You can start your subscription by going to the official DisneyLife website, purchasing from your device’s app store or visiting your local Disney Store. I hope you enjoyed my review – let me know your thoughts on DisneyLife in the comments! image

My name is Mandy Jean, I’m 23, and I’m probably likely to be in the top 5 of the most nerdy people you’ll ever meet (I’ve been personally informed of this on more than one occasion). I’m also obsessed with Disney movies, an avid comic reader and pastel colours are my Kryptonite. When I’m not blogging, I’m a cosplayer under the name Enchanted Rose Cosplay, and have been working part-time as a pro make-up artist for 7 years. Oh, I also enjoy sketching in my downtime and chilling with my dogs, Maggie May and Minnie Bow.
